so we've been down in provo for the past few days. we went down on wed. night to go see the movie "live free or die hard", and it was actually a pretty good movie. after that we met up with nathaneil's old roommate, dave, and his new fiance! so i'm gonna try and tell you her name, except that i have NO idea how to spell it... her name is Miklen, pronounced mike with len on the end! anyway, it was really fun to see dave again, and i'm so happy he finally found someone! we went out for ice cream, and had a fun time catching up. but by the time we got back to my grandparent's house, it was after midnight. so we just decided to stay there that night. and then we were there all day yesterday, and nathaneil and i didn't leave for home until about 9:45 last night. so it was another late night. today was nathaneil's day off, so he was able to be with laynie for her shots, because i can never do it! she only cried her real "i'm hurt" cry for about 30 seconds, and after that she was fine. she's such a brave little girl.
so back to her 9 month b-day. we actually did fun stuff that day... we went shopping! well ok, that's not really fun for her, but she did pretty good. she got to have french fries and tater tots. and she even had a little bit of a chicken nugget! well after we got back from the kohl's and the mall, we decided to go swimming. they took the bubble off the swimming pool here in layton, so it was a lot more fun. she was adorable, but of course i forgot the camera. she had fun for a little while, then she got cranky cuz it was past her nap time. i think for both 8 and 9 months we went swimming, so i guess we'll make it a tradition!
ok now for a little update on what she's doing (sorry this post is kinda long)... well she still has just the 5 teeth. she still wont crawl, not really anyway. she'll move her arms and her legs, but she'll only move them two or three times. then she lays down onto her tummy, "i'm just too tired to go further". i bet thats what she's saying. i suppose it would be hard to hold up 24 lbs of solid chunk tho! she LOVES to stand up and walk around. if you hold your hands out to her she'll grab them right away. when she is standing, she's also usually dancing and wobbling all over the place. she can stand up by herself for a few seconds, although she doesn't really like to. sometimes she'll wave bye-bye but not very often, and whenever i say bye-bye and wave, she just starts laughing. oh and speaking of laughing, everytime i show her a picture of herself or put her in front of a mirror and say her name, she busts up. she loves seeing herself in the mirror and in pictures. she still likes having her picture taken, but i don't think that'll change until she's older. she loves to eat, and loves the little fishy crackers. she's to the point that she can pick stuff up between her thumb and pointer finger, so that's good. in the tub she likes to try and pull herself up, so i have to make sure i'm watching her really well. one time she kind of slipped, but it was really slowly and kinda funny! ok, one last thing... she is the funniest sleeper. as soon as we lay her in her crib, she turns onto her side, and snuggles right up to her blanky i made for her! it's so adorable. well, i think this post is way too long, so i'll stop there.
as you can see, she sticks her face right into the bedding too. i guess the blanket was too far away!
we made a water slide with a sprinkler. they had a lot of fun
