i guess i didn't realize just how hard having 2 kids would be. if laynie is cranky, she cries when ky does, and vice versa. meal time is always fun these days. somehow ky just knows when our dinner is almost done, and decides that it is time to start screaming for his own dinner. that means that i get to sit there feeding him a bottle for 15 min while my food gets cold. luckily daddy is there to take care of laynie, unlike in the mornings. most of the time ky is sleeping while laynie eats, but every once in a while their eating times coincide. its really hard to hold a screaming baby, and wipe down your toddler and get her out of her highchair. so i either make laynie stay in there a while longer, or ky gets to cry a bit longer. either way isn't much fun!
while i was pregnant, i was dreading the day i would have to deal with a baby and my toddler throwing up. well that day came a lot sooner than i had expected! laynie's spewing everywhere, while ky is crying cuz he's not being fed anymore, SO NOT FUN!!
also, laynie is getting to the stage (finally) where she likes to help with ky, especially when he's crying. luckily so far she's been pretty good around him, minus the fact that when she "holds" his hand, she's really pulling on his whole arm!
those are the not-so-good things about 2 kids. the pluses would be that i get 2x the cuddles, the smiles, and the good times. laynie has been so stinkin' adorable lately (except for the few tantrums a day that we get! :) ). i keep telling my mom that it's a shame i can't keep a video camera on her all day, cuz out of the blue she'll crack me up! i can't really think of any examples right now, but it's the small things she does that are so funny. i thought of one- lately when i'm taking her picture, i'll tell her to say cheese and she will. well this morning i told her to say 'cheese' and instead she says... "mouse!" it was soooo funny, mainly because i didn't realize that she knew that cheese and mouse would go together! she's such a smarty pants!
laynie also likes to give hugs and kisses, and will finally say 'love you'! that's way cute too, btw!
now for the 2nd half... my little ky man. he is such a doll, especially when he smiles. he loves it when he is able to find one of us, and absolutely adores his big sissy. just today, laynie and i went to get him out of his swing. as soon as he saw laynie, he was all smiles! laynie loved it!
he is also doing a bit of his cooing/talking, and that is one of my favorite things about babies. i love to hear his little voice like that, it's so cute.

**because laynie was sitting on my lap while i was posting earlier, i couldn't think clearly and probably didn't get everything in this post that i wanted to. but i do want to say that, yes i am a mommy of 2 crazy, but wonderful kids that i love dearly. but i am also the wife of the most amazing man ever. nathaneil is ever so patient with me, even when i definitely don't deserve it. i get on his case all the time about all the little things he doesn't do or that he doesn't do the way i want him to. for that i want to apologize. i'm sorry for being so selfish and unappreciative, but i do appreciate him and everything he does. all weekend is my chance to catch up on sleep, and he let's me sleep whenever i want, even though he's tired too. usually when he gets home from work, i've gone crazy, so i shove both kids on him. i really should let him have some of his own time, he's been at work all day too! so nathaneil, thank you. thank you for everything you do, and for being such an amazing father and husband! we love you!**

I'm with you all the way on the two kids thing. Some days you just have to make it through the next hour (or minute) and other days life is just wonderful. Everyone keeps telling me it will get easier and I guess it kind of has. Now that David can hold his own bottle I can lay him down for a minute while I help Brooklyn with something, that's a huge help. It can be tiresome, but like you said, it's also very rewarding =)
