my little bookworm with her 'soccer ball' on her wrist! she got it from the dentist, and loves it so much, she wouldn't take it off for anything the first few days!
being oh so cute. she just had to wear her pumpkin bib. after she was done eating, i took it off, she cried and wanted it back on, so i put it back on... funny girl

we were watching brooklyn that evening so her parents could go out one last time before the baby came this was saturday the 11th (just in the nick of time!). it got to be bath time and her parents hadn't come yet, so we had bath time together.
our 1st snow of the season!! sunday oct 12
after church... laynie LOVED the snow, and her little snowman daddy made her. than said she was giving it 'hugs' and 'kisses' but not really touching it! so cute
she really didn't want to come inside, but she wasn't really dressed for the weather! she actually didn't have any snow boots, or a warm coat that fit... she does now, but we just got the boots tonight!
he started doing this on sunday... lifting his head so he's kinda sitting up. he does that all the time now, it's so funny.
that evening grandma wilkerson came to visit/study. she had her boards (last of the pharmacy tests) the next day in ogden, so she stayed with us. laynie loved it, and the next morning after she'd left, laynie kept asking "where ama go?"

monday night was the last of the hayrides, so we invited the hatch's to come along with us to get pumpkins. angie and i had taken the girls last year, and really wanted to do it again this year.

this would be thursday morning. i got a call about 8:30... it was angie... she had just gone into labor, with contractions starting 30 minutes before. i went and got brooklyn, they went to the hospital. 12:35 pm, Kaden Justin Hatch came into this world. can you say easy or what?! 4 1/2 hours after her contractions started, he just comes right out! literally... she didn't even have to push!! lucky duck.
i know, i didn't get a very good pic, and i didn't get a chance cuz the nurse needed to take him back to the nursery to warm him up.
the next day, friday, we went down to provo. we went to lunch at red robin (mmm, yummy!) and then later we went and got halloween/ky's 4 month pictures taken. it actually went ok, crazy huh?! oh and the friday before we had gone and gotten laynie's b-day pix done. i'll put some up soon, hopefully!

that night for family night, we decided to go up farmington canyon. it was really pretty and full of colors!
i let laynie sit on my lap and look out the window. she would lean out of it just a little, so i would tell her to be careful. so after that, when she would lean out she would say "careful mommy, careful." it was pretty funny.

laynie wearing her hannah montana shirt. when i asked her who was on her shirt, she said "mommy!" then i told her it was hannah montana. well later that day i showed her a pic of me and than in college. i asked who it was and she said, "solon" (than) and "hannah montana" (me). it was soooo funny! and cute! oh and when she first went and got these pot holders, she stood at the top of the stairs and called down to than, "trick or treat daddy! trick or treat!"
that night as we were saying our family prayers, laynie seemed in a pretty cooperative mood. so we helped her say a prayer. it was adorable, and her very 1st one (for journal purposes, oct 21st)!
