ok so these pictures are now over a month old, but i really wanted to post them anyway. but first i'll tell a little about what's going on in our life. we got home on the 9th of jan, and let me tell you, it was so hard having nathaneil go back to work on monday! but we've survived (just barely for me :)) well the sunday after we got back, we went to annalen's ward because they were speaking in sacrament. it was also her birthday the next day so we were having a little dinner and celebration. well this last saturday i put ky and laynie in the tubby wubby (laynie's favorite way of saying tub!) and as i was putting her in, i noticed a little rash. i didn't really think anything of it til sunday morning. i was changing her diaper and that 'rash' was a lot more red and the bumps were a lot bigger and more distinguished. she also had more of them. by monday morning there were a few more so i called the dr. i took her in later that day and it was confirmed.... she had the chicken pox! she seems to be doing ok with it, she doesn't even act sick. luckily she's had the vaccine, so this case is rather mild, and don't seem to be itchy at all. but i am worried that ky is getting them. i've checking him everyday (and every diaper change) for any red bumps, and i saw one earlier. well tonight right before bed, i saw 3 bumps. i guess i'll just have to wait 'til tomorrow to know for sure!
while in wisconsin we celebrated ky's 6 month birthday- on aaron's 25th birthday! well ky's 6 month dr appt was supposed to be last friday, but the doc called in sick. so now we will have it tomorrow... on his 7 month b-day. although with his maybe chicken pox i don't think he'll be getting any shots, which is good and bad. good cuz then we don't have to deal with the pain and all that goes with shots. bad because we are already a month behind, which means his 9 month shots are going to be delayed.
now for a little mommy-rant time! i don't know why, but the past few days have been extremely bad. laynie WILL NOT listen to me, and therefore has been getting a lot of timeout and spankings. tuesday was really bad, but luckily than got home and was able to help. well last night was wed, which means than had mutual. the day had gone awful, then than came home, was here for about 10 minutes and got mad at laynie. then an hour later he was gone again! i had just about had enough, so i let laynie watch tv until it was time to get ready for bed (which was only about an hour, but i've been doing really good lately with only letting her watch 1-2 hours a day) needless to say when than got home after mutual and his meeting, he got to have ky. i ended up falling asleep on the lovesac, and than got to handle ky and then get him ready for bed. needless to say... our weekend could not have come sooner!!! i am so thankful for my kids, and i love them dearly, but something was up this week, so i'm glad it's over! i'm also extremely grateful for my hubby, who gets to take care of the kids as soon as he gets home, but he never complains about it! love you!!!
and now for some fun stuff... laynie has been the cutest little girl these past, well weeks actually. her vocabulary has expanded sooooo much! she pretty much repeats anything we say. i was folding laundry the other day while ky was up in his room napping. he woke up and started crying, and laynie could hear him on the monitor. i called up to him that i was coming, and i'd be there in a minute. well laynie was busy too, playing with a puzzle. she calls up to him "i coming baby ky, a just a minute!" it is sooooo adorable, and she is becoming quite the little mommy. she also now loves being a big sister and having a baby brother, and very often she wants to play with baby ky. unfortunately 'playing with baby ky' usually means taking away whatever toy he is playing with! but she'll learn, hopefully!
we also just found the games on the fisher price website for laynie... and she loves them!!! well one in particular. you push any letter key, and it comes up with an animal that starts with that letter. she has a blast playing it, and now comes to the computer saying, 'my chair mommy, a play my game!' funny girl!
for the past few months she's been having a hard time with eating dinner. well the last couple of nights we've been able to bribe her...with corn or rolls! she loves those, so we would make her eat a couple bites of dinner before she could have more corn or more of her roll. it's awesome! hopefully it will last!
now on to ky stuff... he officially said his first word on sunday the 11th i think-- dada! yeah i taught him to say it, and he did once before, but we are counting sunday because than was holding him and ky looked right up at him and said 'dadadada'. my baby is growing up! and on that note, he is now sitting up! it took him long enough! we kept trying to get him to do it the whole time we were in wisconsin, and then a few days after we get home, and he decides to start doing it. now he is almost a pro! he does still fall over, mostly sideways, but he does really good.
before we left for WI he didn't really seem to enjoy the jumperoo much, but now he loves it and goes crazy in it! it's way cute and he seems to like it a lot. the other day he was being really cute with his tongue... while trying to chew on it, he would click his tongue and do his little baby talk stuff. such a funny boy.
ok, now that my long windedness has left me and i've gotten really tired (it's actually after midnight now! so i'm sorry if some of this doesn't make sense :)) here are the pix!

i decided to take the girls out to play in the snow, so angie stayed in and watched both boys... it was a good trade for me, cuz i got to play in the snow too... i'm still a kid at heart :)

he loves to snuggle with blankies! the cool nap thing about going to WI was that we didn't have a swing there. so everyday for naptime, we would just lay ky down on my mom's bed. before we left, the only way ky would nap was in one of his swings. well since being back, he's napped in his bed! he no longer uses his swings, except maybe to play in them, but not for naps!!! i'm so excited, can't ya tell?!

at angie's... santa came for a visit, and of course laynie didn't want anything to do with him! when laynie was a baby we got her pic taken with santa. i figured she'd be too scared, so i haven't even bothered to try and get pix again, but we did go and get ky's done! i'll post those pix sometime soon too (they are still in WI right now)
at the airport during our layover. we'd gotten up at 3:45 that morning and left by 4:15... yeah laynie woke up as were leaving! well i didn't have a clip for her hair, just 2 ponytail holders, so this would be the lovely result!
